Our trained engineers can carry out mechanical servicing and repairs, for both private and commercial customers for seasonal and emergency maintenance and repair, along with maintained contracts and one-off commercial customer requirements.
We offer a quick turnaround on all repairs, alongside emergency servicing with little to no downtime. Whatever you need repairing, we are able to accommodate hand held, walk behind and ride on garden and horticultural servicing in our purpose-built workshop.
Our servicing is exceptional value for money, as we carry out a thorough service and clean all your tools and machinery, so they are returned to you as good as new.

Specialist Grinding
If your machine is no longer cutting the grass cleanly, its time to get the cutting units serviced and sharpened.
RD Mechanical Services recommend a two tiered grinding strategy over the course of each year, a full relief grind when your machine is serviced over the Winter months and this then followed up with a mid-season spin grind to keep ensure optimum cut quality throughout the season when you need your machine the most.
Relief Grinding
- Ensures longer wearing life of the parts.
- Less time required to back-lap.
- Reduce pressure to cutting surfaces resulting in less hydraulic power required, lower engine load and fuel usage.
- Reduces squeezing and tearing of the grass as the units gets dull by use.
Spin Grinding
Every cutting unit service requirement is different and depends on the application. A mower cutting rough grass for a local authority will clearly have a different grinding and set-up to one that is mowing a tee on a golf course.
A spin grind takes less time, therefore costs less money, whilst still giving the cutting surfaces a freshen up and can be done without stripping the cutting unit down.

We use our top of the range 633 ACCU PRO for our grinding, whether doing quick “touch-up” spin grinding or returning the reel to manufacturer specifications, nobody does either with more quality and efficiency than RD Mechanical Services.
