Description

Strong, robust, at home in difficult off-road terrain

The robust ride-on flail mower AS 1040 YAK 4WD XL is made for the tough use in uneven, rough, steep and undulating terrain. The ride-on mower shreds extensive green areas, growth up to 1.50 metres, undergrowth and scrub effortlessly and reliably. This makes this flail mower suitable for professional use by service providers, local authorities and garden and landscaping contractors. Essential for the off-road capability is the low centre of gravity and the large XL tyres of the machine for even more ground clearance than the AS 1040 YAK 4WD.

Power pack with direct flail shaft drive

The AS 1040 YAK 4 WD XL is powered by a professional Vanguard V-Twin engine. The horizontal engine delivers a maximum of 23 hp (17.2 kW) at 627ccm displacement and transmits the power via V-belts directly to the flail shaft. Optimum fresh air supply to the engine is ensured by the cyclone air filter. Thanks to the oil and fuel pump, the AS 1040 YAK 4WD XL is fully suitable for slopes.

Stepless four-wheel drive with cruise control function

Thanks to the hydrostatic drive, the ride-on flail mower can be steered comfortably and continuously in the range of 7.3 km/h forwards and 6.8 km/h backwards. The permanent four-wheel drive and XL ground clearance ensure the best possible propulsion on any terrain. The rear axle differential can be locked at any time by foot pedal. Driving is simple and comfortable using the hand control lever. The automatic parking brake and the cruise control function are also integrated in the drive lever. For safety reasons, the machine also has an emergency brake pedal for the right foot, just like a passenger car.

Surfing flail mower with Y flails

The mulch mowing deck with 56 Y flails and a working width of one metre creates area outputs of up to 7,300 m²/h. The cut material is deposited as a mulch layer evenly over the entire working width. The cutting pattern, even with very high vegetation, is visually homogeneous and attractive. 7 levels are available for adjusting the cutting height from 30-110 mm. The pendulum suspension of the mowing deck allows it to move upwards when sitting on the sides or when applying high force to the blades (surfing mowing deck). Damage to the cutting deck, rotor and flails is thus prevented as far as possible. The asymmetrical arrangement of the mowing deck enables efficient mowing of edge areas and obstacles.

High seating comfort and ergonomics

The ergonomic and upright sitting position in the machine ensures ample legroom for operators up to 1.95 m tall. The bucket seat can be adjusted in length to suit any user. The innovative suspension system with end position damping is also individually and continuously adjustable to suit every operator. In addition, all operating elements are logically arranged and conveniently accessible. Aluminium side panels protect the driver’s hands from thorns and undergrowth. A standard puncture protection with AS Motor „Plattfuss-Stop reliably prevents flat tires.
